This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Grammy Awards, which will be televised on February 10th. Kanye West leads all artists with eight nominations. Let's hope he keeps his cool this year if he doesn't win. With six nominations is troubled sensation Amy Winehouse. We know that sometimes the "best" artists don't seem to win the awards, so as usual we've created a few polls for you to vote for your favorites. Just look for the Grammy Polls at the top of our polls page, and while you are there also check out the winners from previous Grammy Awards.
Top Hits Online is centered around a weekly music chart that is based solely on music fans' favorite songs of the week. The website also has a huge chart archive with links to lyrics and comments. Our new album releases page is one of the most popular on the internet.

THO 100 Update for the week ending January 26, 2008
Timbaland's streak of nine consecutive weeks at #1 finally comes to an end this week. The most photographed woman in the world, Britney Spears, takes over the top spot with her latest hit "Piece of Me." It is the first #1 song of 2008 and Spears' sixth THO chart-topper of her career. She might have more than that but her first three singles all stalled at the runner-up position. Here is this week's current chart.

2008 Hall of Fame Inductees: The Ventures & Dave Clark Five
We've already profiled two of the "younger" artists who will be inducted into Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year: Madonna and John Mellencamp. Now we turn our attention to two more venerable groups who also get inducted this year: The Ventures and Dave Clark Five. Both groups had a string of memorable hits, although most of us probably are too young to remember them. If you'd like to read more about The Ventures, here is their Wikipedia listing. And here is the same for Dave Clark Five. Also, in their honor we've created two polls for you to select your favorite songs from each:

THO 100 Update
In December it looked like Alicia Keys might get her second #1 hit on the THO chart with "No One." Her first single, "Fallin'," went to #1 back in 2001. But for the eighth consecutive week it sits at #2 stuck behind Timbaland's "Aplogize" (featuring OneRepublic). And even though Timbaland's hit is losing points quickly, Keys still may not get the top spot next week. That is because Britney Spears' new song "Piece Of Me" is storming up the chart. In its eighth week on the chart it sits at #3 with a nice point gain. Here is the current chart.

2008 Hall of Fame Inductee: John Mellencamp
For years we were not sure what to call him - John Couger, John Couger Mellencamp, John Mellencamp. But that didn't overshadow the fact that he continued making fantastic pop/rock songs. Writing nearly all of his own songs, he continually reminded us of the struggles of the lower-middle working class. But he's ventured outside of that genre and performed duets with many celebrated artists such as India.Arie, Trisha Yearwood, and Lucinda Williams. Soon he will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and we hope you'll take part in our poll choosing the best John Mellencamp song.

American Idol Is Back!
Randy Jackson said it best during season #7's opening episode: "Can you believe this is season 7?!" The show really hasn't changed much since season #1, except that its popularity keeps growing. Before we crown another idol, we feel it is a good time to reflect on past American Idol winners. Please take part in our poll and vote on your favorite American Idol from the first six seasons, or just check out the results.

THO 100 Update for week ending January 5, 2008
Timbaland's huge hit "Apologize" spends a seventh week atop the THO 100, still fending off advances by Linkin Park and Leona Lewis. Although still a few weeks away, it seems as though Britney Spears may have another #1 hit, as "Piece of Me" is the largest point gainer this week, moving up to #7.
Ten new songs enter the chart, led by Buckcherry's "Sorry." Finger Eleven's long-running hit "Paralyzer" reaches a new peak at #26 in its 37th week on the chart.
