Lady GaGa not only had one of the best years an artist could have in 2009, two of her songs also land in the top five of our Top Songs of the 2000s chart. The chart was compiled by assigning points for each week a song spent on the weekly THO 100 chart - more points for #1, much fewer for #100. Using this criteria, GaGa's "Poker Face" was the #1 song of the decade, barely edging out Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love." Lewis' hit did not reach #1 but spent 25 weeks inside the top 10. Possibly the most popular artist of the decade was Kelly Clarkson, who had three songs in the top 14 and had the most songs in the top 100 list with six. Other artists/groups with three appearances were: Green Day, Coldplay, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Madonna, Avril Lavigne, The Killers, Matchbox Twenty, Timbaland and Beyonce.
