It is hard to argue that Coldplay isn't the hottest band on the planet right now. They have one of the best-selling albums worldwide, two of the most downloaded songs, and now they collect their third number one hit on the
THO 100. "
Violet Hill" displaces Madonna's "
4 Minutes" in the #1 spot after her 10-week run. The song follows "
Clocks" in 2003 and "
Talk" in 2006 as Coldplay number ones on the chart. In fact, "Talk" also displaced Madonna at #1 after her nine week run with "
Sorry." But "Violet Hill" may not be at the top for long, as Coldplay's own "
Viva La Vida" is the largest point gainer and moves up to #4 this week. Next week we could have the same band at #1 and #2. We'll have to check our records to find the last time that happened. Enjoy the chart!
