THO 100 Update for week ending January 2, 2010

Just two years ago, Adam Young (aka Owl City) was making music out of his parents' basement. Since then, he's had a Billboard #1 Hot 100 hit, a top ten album, and one of the most downloaded songs of 2009 and 2010 (so far). This week Owl City's "Fireflies" flies up to #2 on the THO 100, replacing Rihanna's "Russian Roulette" as the runner-up to Lady GaGa's unstoppable hit "Bad Romance." Owl City's album, "Ocean Eyes," is their first with a major record label, and "Fireflies" is actually the fourth single to be released from the album. Young has been accused of ripping off electronica favorite The Postal Service, but we say What's Wrong With That?
