
It's not everyday that a female-led rock band reaches the upper regions of the THO 100. But this week the Yeah Yeah Yeahs break into the top 10 with their hit "
Zero." It is actually their fourth THO hit, following "
Maps" (2004), "
Gold Lion" (2006) and "
Turn Into" (2006). "Gold Lion" was their previous highest-charting song, reaching #15. Female solo artists usually reach much higher levels of overall popularity, and this weeks' chart is a shining example of that. Seven of the top 10 singles are from female solo artists. Green Day's "
Know Your Enemy" is the only band/artist in the top 10 with a male singer.
